TATSURO KIUCHI

Tatsuro Kiuchi is a Tokyo based illustrator and painter. Tatsuro began illustrating children’s books with several publishers in the US and Japan, eventually branching out into editorial work for magazines, book jacket illustrations and advertising commissions.

His work appears to be composed using traditional methods like screen printing, but he uses digital media. This doesn’t affect the hand-made feel of his work and the textures he brings out in each piece. His characters navigate domestic worlds like cafes, classrooms and apartment blocks, and the slight haziness cast over each image adds to their charm.

Tatsuro is the owner of studio Pen Still Writes and a member of Tokyo Illustratos Society. He teaches illustration at Aoyamajuku.
