Adams Carvalho is an illustrator based in Brazil. He works as a freelancer. As Banksy or other shifty artists, Adams Carvalho wants that his work and not his face be known. Not drawn out of vanity, but necessity: "I think of drawing all the time, compulsively" says the Brazilian. "It's for pleasure, not money."
He began publishing illustrations in Folha de S.Paulo, one of the most important newspapers in Brazil, and has not stopped collaborating with various newspapers, magazines and books. Trying to "escape" the advertising universe, works almost exclusively on digital platforms ("it is easier, faster and efficient") and, when not to make a living, he comes to personal projects.
"The job pays the bills" Carvalho says, "but it is in those projects where I exercise my artistic and conceptual proposals. If I do not get time for that, I straitened. I need to have the freedom to produce what, how much and when they want, and why not look much sell my artwork" he says.
