Hello July!

Hello everyone! How is life treating you?

I am plenty of projects and ideas, always trying to be organized but sometimes it gets kind of messy.

Right now I am thinking about holidays because summer is here! I am not a huge fan of extreme hot weather, so I am escaping to the mountains. It is the perfect place for trekking and focus on illustrating without everyday distractions.

I am also focusing on my health. I am trying to eat healthier at least when I am home and I have been buying cookbooks focused on eating well and tasteful! Here are a few recommendations if you are in the same path as I am:

The Clever Guts Diet Recipe Book this book gives you a lot of knowledge about what to have in your kitchen, and it also has recipes for breakfast, dinner and also snacks if you are like me and want to grab something during the day.

Simply Biotiful if you don't like complex recipes and want to eat healthy as well this book is for you.

Come Consciente from an angentinian influencer, she has the best recipes and they are so good! You don't need a million ingredients and she has a huge variety of ideas you can do!

As you see in the image I share, these last few months for me had been about LEARNING. Sometimes I feel I don't have enough time to learn all the things I am interested about (illustration, photography, travelling, cinema). So when I don't have a lot of time because of my everyday workload (I am an UX designer) I try to use my time to read and do online courses. I think it is so important to try to learn as much as we can, we are in such a privileged position to have access to all this knowledge. Yes, sometimes it is overwhelming, but if you focus in certain subjects (not like me) you can handle it!

Books I have been reading:

Winter Journal by Paul Auster: reading this one currently, the way he describes his memories, the melancholy, I can really identify with his writing. Sometimes we miss too much, but how wonderful it is to look back. Without getting lost of course.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*** by Mark Manson this one was a discovery for me. I read the title and I imagined an obvious speech of how to ignore everything around, but instead it talks about focusing on the real problems instead of the tiny little problems that are in our lives every day. It says that happiness is not about not having problems at all, but worrying about the ones that really matter. A chnage of focus necessary for everyone used to complain about everything, a must-read I would say.

And talking about online courses, I started on Domestika

Ilustración digital vectorial con colores vibrantes by Jess Hannigan, just started this one and I like her focus on loosing the hand a little bit more. I like courses where we explore illustration beyond the classic drawing of the body, the head, etc.

Diario visual creativo: aprende a dibujar tu vida by Pepita Sandwich, an argentinian illustrator living in NY. I love her style and her way of showing her feelings and emotions. I also like the way she teaches you to keep a journal, this is a great way of practicing your skills and expressing yourself.

This is it for today! Let's see what July has for us!!
